The Metropolitan Traffic Police have started action against those who terrorize the people by distorting their appearance and terrorizing them by honking their horns.
Police have taken action against 20 motorcyclists for making loud noises and changing their appearance. The department has said that it has taken action against the motorcyclists for making noise in the city, causing loud noise, driving loudly, changing the shape, driving recklessly, and driving in a zigzag manner.
Chief of the Division, Senior Superintendent of Police, Bhim Prasad Dhakal, said that such motorcycles were causing accidents as well as terrorizing the public due to unnecessary noise.
"The branch has also made a special request to all the citizens to inform the traffic police hotline 103 if they see such motorcycles going anywhere."
The department has tightened the operation of motorcycles in the valley by modifying the silencers, removing the filters, or making loud noises from the company. The traffic police said that the motorcycles had to be tightened as the general public had to deal with problems like noise pollution and accidents due to loud noise. These bikes run at high speeds and the loud and noisy sounds on them have frightened many disabled, infirm, and sick people, heart patients, and people with weak hearts.
According to Divisional Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Prasad Yadav, this Fiscal year Only 077/78 has taken action against 34 motorcycles. A fine of Rs 1,000 to Rs 15,000 has been imposed on the seized motorcycles as per the Vehicle and Transport Management Act 2049 BS.
According to the traffic police, the loudest motorcycles include Honda Dirt, Hartford VR, Ducati, Crossfire, Bullet, Benelli, RX, and other bikes. The department has stated that the numbers of such misguided motorcycles have been collected through various means and they have been kept under surveillance. The branch has also made a special request to all the citizens to inform the traffic police hotline 103 if they see such motorcycles running anywhere.
