Kohli Crowned Player of the Tournament as Australia Clinches ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023

In a thrilling final held in Ahmedabad on Sunday, Australia secured victory in the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup-2023 by defeating India with a six-wicket margin. This win marks Australia's sixth world championship, adding to their titles in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, Virat Kohli, India's seasoned batsman, was honored with the Player of the Tournament award. Kohli's exceptional performance makes him the third Indian player to achieve this recognition in a World Cup, following Sachin Tendulkar in 2003 and Yuvraj Singh in 2011. Notably, Tendulkar received the award despite being part of the team that lost in the final.

Former captain Virat Kohli played a crucial role as an anchor batsman for the team, contributing to India's success by ensuring stability in the middle overs. Kohli's remarkable form was evident as he amassed 765 runs at an extraordinary average of 95.62, setting a new record for the highest average in World Cup history.

His impressive performance included three centuries and six fifties, with a top score of 113 runs in the tournament. Kohli's consistent and impactful contributions played a pivotal role in India's journey throughout the World Cup.
